Dr. Clair Francomano
Dr. Abbas Qutab holds degrees in Medicine, Chiropractic, and Oriental Medicine in addition to his Ph.D. in Ayurvedic Medicine (traditional medicine native to India). Among many prestigious positions, Dr. Qutab was a Research Fellow at the Neuroscience Institute and the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture. He is Board Certified in Pain Management, Forensic Medicine, and Naturopathy and holds a Master Certification in Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Dr. Qutab also has extensive experience developing post-graduate certification programs for physicians in the area of integrative and complementary medicine.
In 1989, Dr. Qutab founded Elan Vital Medical Centers in Massachusetts, combining the best of Eastern and Western medicine in an integrative, holistic approach. Today, thousands of people around the world visit his clinics seeking complementary and integrative medical treatments.

General Hospital, and the Royal Society of Medicine in England. Dr. Qutab has been awarded as honorary Sc.D. from the World Health Organization Charter University. He has played an active role with the National Republican Congressional Committee and served as an Honorary Chairman of Medicare and Healthcare Reforms Committee as well.
Dr. Qutab has been extensively involved in creating innovative nutraceutical products for human, medical spa, sports nutrition, and canine industries. Dr. Qutab’s area of interest also includes Nitric Oxide. He has researched nitric oxide and its role and function in the body extensively. His latest book, Nitric Oxide: The Molecule of Life, has been translated into several languages. Dr. Qutab serves as the Head of Kyani’s Scientific Advisory Board.
Dr. Barrie Tan earned his bachelors degree in Chemistry and Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Otago, New Zealand. He later became a professor of Chemistry and Food Science and Nutrition at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Dr. Tan was the first to introduce the benefits of tocotrienols to the nutraceutical industry after he discovered all three sources of tocotrienols (palm, rice, and annatto). In 1998, he founded American River Nutrition, Inc. and developed the first ever tocopherol-free tocotrienol product derived from annatto beans. His research expertise include lipid-soluble materials such as tocotrienols, tocopherols, omega 3s, CoQ10, carotenoids, and cholesterol.
Today, Dr. Tan continues to be the world’s leading expert in tocotrienols. The focus of research is phytonutrients that have an impact on chronic and degenerative diseases. He has published numerous articles. Dr. Tan was recently elected to be the Senior Editor of the second edition of the book Tocotrienols: Vitamin E Beyond Tocopherols. Dr. Tan also serves on Kyani’s Scientific Advisory Board.
Dr. Thomas Joseph Burke received his Ph.D. from the University of Houston followed by a four-year, postdoctoral research fellowship at Duke University Medical School. He then joined the faculty at the University of Colorado Medical School, teaching in the Department of Physiology and the Department of Medicine.
Dr. Burke has served as a visiting scientist at the Mayo Clinic and several universities including Yale University. He has been invited to lecture at numerous national and international medical and scientific conferences and has been awarded substantial financial grants by many prestigious organizations including the National Institute of Health. Dr. Burke has also authored 92 articles in peer-reviewed literature and 16 book chapters, reviews and editorials.
In the early 1990s, Dr. Burke began researching nitric oxide. Later he developed a research company that performed contract research for companies in biologic sciences. His company was the first to find that the noni plant increases nitric oxide production in the body. As an expert on nitric oxide, Dr. Burke has published multiple scientific papers and lectured around the world on the topic. He is well positioned to understand the potential health benefits of products that would increase nitric oxide naturally. Dr. Burke serves as a member of Kyani’s Scientific Advisory Board.
